Old School Snake
Remember when phones were bricks and snakes lived on green LCD screens? The legend is back, pixel for pixel.
Drag through the app
1997 called. We answered.
Steer your snake, eat the pixels, dodge the walls and your own tail. Authentic two-color LCD rendering with scanlines and a dot-matrix font, plus the modern comforts the brick phones never had.
5 levels
Open Field, The Box, Tunnels, Windmill and Labyrinth, each with its own walls and tricks.
4 difficulties
From a relaxed Easy crawl to an Insane slither, with separate high scores per level and difficulty.
5 display themes
Pea Green, Backlight, Pocket Grey, Amber and Midnight, every LCD you ever owned.
Play your way
Swipe anywhere, or use on-screen keys in classic cross or split-thumbs layout. Move and resize the keys from 75 to 140%, or plug in a keyboard: arrows, WASD, space and P all work.
Beeps and rumble
Optional retro sound effects and haptic feedback, just like the good old days.
7 languages
English, German, Spanish, French, Finnish, Croatian and Slovenian.
Arcade, Classic, Time Attack and Gauntlet
Choose progressive arcade play, fixed-speed Classic, a 60-second score run or a 20-food challenge. Scores stay separate for each mode, level and difficulty.
Learn, practice, then compete
Try turning, wrapping and boosting in a safe interactive tutorial. Open any locked level directly in practice, with no scores or unlocks recorded.
Save and continue
Pause a run and continue later from the menu. The board and active timer restore paused, ready when you are.
Offline daily challenge
A daily level and repeatable food placement, Normal difficulty and 60 seconds. Keep a local best or share a challenge code for someone else to try. No account or connection needed.
Built natively for iPhone and iPad
The native SwiftUI version brings the same five levels, four difficulties, four game modes and five LCD themes to iPhone and iPad. Continue a saved run, learn with a safe tutorial, or try locked levels in practice. Daily challenge codes work across Android and iOS, with scores kept locally. Play with on-screen keys, swipes, or a hardware keyboard on iPad. Screenshots land here once it reaches TestFlight.
Data and privacy
Old School Snake runs entirely offline with a single permission: vibration, for the rumble. High scores and settings are stored locally, so they stay between you and your thumbs.
