KeptCV Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how KeptCV handles information when you use the app. KeptCV is an offline CV (résumé) builder that exports to PDF.
Summary
KeptCV does not create user accounts and does not include advertising, analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. The app works fully offline. It does not request the internet permission and makes no network connections, so there is nothing to send. The CVs you write, any photo you add and your settings are stored only on your device.
Information stored on your device
KeptCV stores the following locally on your device:
- The CVs you create: their content (personal details, experience, education, skills and other sections) and their design (theme, colours, fonts and layout)
- Any profile photo you add to a CV, copied into the app's private storage
- App preferences, such as the app theme (light/dark) and interface language
This information stays on your device. It is not sent to the app publisher or anyone else.
Photos
If you add a photo to a CV, you pick it through the Android photo picker. KeptCV copies the image you choose into its own private storage so it can be shown in the CV and included when you export. Photos are processed on your device and are never uploaded. The app does not request access to your whole photo library.
Exporting and sharing
Exporting a PDF, printing, sharing a CV as an image, or saving a portable .cvm file
are all actions you start yourself. The resulting file is written to storage you choose or handed
to Android's share or print dialog, which you control. KeptCV does not upload your CV anywhere,
and moving a CV to another device is done by exporting a file and opening it there.
No network access
KeptCV does not request the internet permission and does not make network connections. The only links that reach the internet are in the Settings screen; tapping one opens your browser to our website, which is outside the app.
No data collection
The app does not collect, transmit or share any personal data. It contains no advertising, analytics or tracking libraries.
Permissions
KeptCV requests no Android runtime permissions. Picking a photo uses the Android photo picker and saving files uses the system file picker, neither of which requires a permission.
Device backup
KeptCV opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup, so your CVs and photos are not copied to
your Google account by the system. To keep or move your CVs, use the app's built-in export: save
a CV as a PDF, or as a portable .cvm file that you can import on another device.
Children
KeptCV is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect data from children. It collects no data at all.
Data deletion
Uninstalling KeptCV removes its data from your device. You can also clear the app's data from Android system settings, which deletes your CVs, stored photos and settings.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the app changes. The updated version will be published at this same address.
